Powerball, Mega Taxes, and Big Spending

As fans of the Heritage Foundation‘s preemintent policy blog, The Foundry, we thought we’d share our interpretation of a weekend post on federal spending. With all the jabber about “taxing the wealthiest Americans,”Heritage throws an obvious question into the debate about a current fiscal event—Powerball.

How much government would federal taxes on the Powerball winnings contribute to the patriotic cause of pulling us back from that towering monument we’ve christened the Fiscal Cliff? How much fiscal gas does a government this big take to run for, say, 20 minutes?

We infographed the question and answer. Thanks for all you guys do Heritage!
